‘Oru’, which is Japanese for ‘to fold’, was the only information I was given re the branding requirements of this small business (apart from the fact that they make and sell designer fabric serviettes). With so little to work with, one might think that coming up with a brand identity would have been a great challenge, but the creative freedom it afforded me made ORU. one of my most enjoyable projects to date.
The memorable three-letter name of this brand lent itself nicely to a simple text-based logo.
Together with the logo, the Japanese-inspired pattern makes the branding of ORU. simple but effective.
A series of swing tags were designed in the brand’s colour scheme, to be mixed and matched with their various serviette designs.
